Brian has coordinated BIA's educational activities, provided technical support for architects and engineers, performed inspections and plans reviews, delivered a multitude of presentations, and wrote and oversaw publication of technical documents. He now heads up architectural and builder outreach in the Northeast and Midwest for BIA.

Jamie Schafer has over 16 years of experience as a Professional Home Inspector. He has an architectural background, with additional experience in swimming pool service and construction. He is also licensed by New York State to teach Home Inspection.

Frank Minissale has an extensive background in plumbing, both hands-on and management of construction. He is a plumbing service manager for Petro Oil.

John Levey, president of the Oil Heat Institute of Long Island, is a consultant and educator who brings over 30 years of industry experience to our seminar. He provides education in diverse topics, including HVAC, oil tanks (buried and above-ground), customer service, and service department operation, among other subjects.

George Parsons is a 3rd generation owner of George Parsons Roofing, a well-respected roofing company based on Long Island. He is one of the most knowledgeable slate and tile roof experts in the region and has over 30 years of "on the roof experience." He started his career being a helper and moved up to a full roofing mechanic capable of any and all roofing installations including the very difficult, such as slate work and custom copper work.

American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is a not-for-profit professional society established in 1976 whose volunteer membership consists of private, fee-paid home inspectors. ASHI's objectives include the promotion of excellence within the profession and continual improvement of its members' inspection services to the public.

The Long Island chapter of ASHI (LI ASHI) was formed in 1997 to meet the specific needs of ASHI members and home inspectors working on Long Island. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, except for August and December.

Over 40% of our local collected dues are donated to NYSAHI, a not-for-profit group dedicated to protecting the interests of New York State home inspectors in NYS legislation. To that end, most of NYSAHI's expenses are paid to a professional lobbyist to promote our agenda in the NYS legislature.
