American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is a not-for-profit professional society established in 1976 whose volunteer membership consists of private, fee-paid home inspectors. ASHI's objectives include the promotion of excellence within the profession and continual improvement of its members' inspection services to the public.

The Long Island chapter of ASHI (LI ASHI) was formed in 1997 to meet the specific needs of ASHI members and home inspectors working on Long Island. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, except for August and December.

Over 40% of our local collected dues are donated to NYSAHI, a not-for-profit group dedicated to protecting the interests of New York State home inspectors in NYS legislation. To that end, most of NYSAHI's expenses are paid to a professional lobbyist to promote our agenda in the NYS legislature.
